Redwood Executive Search is working with the world’s largest and most innovative provider of temperature-controlled logistics solutions, with more than 22,000 employees across over 400 locations and spanning 20 countries across North America, Europe, Asia-Pacific, and South America.
We are looking for an Engineering Manager / Maintenance Director to work in their new site in Milagro (Navarra), who needs to provide an interesting technical background managing refrigeration warehouses, understanding in-deep what are the main aspects needed to ensure a correct business operations performance, but also proving experience leading and conducting projects in each one, being critical to be solvent in facility services and equipment predictive maintenance.

JOB RESPONSABILITIES:
The Engineering Manager will oversee his/her Facility Engineering and Maintenance function of the company and is responsible for providing direction, oversite, and operational support of all refrigeration, facility, and material handling equipment maintenance activities in his/her site.
The Engineering Manager will initially have four main areas of focus:
1. To advise and initiate action in his/her site according with Europe Maintenance and Engineering strategy in consultation with the Regional Engineering Head.
2. Assess the in- and outsourced technical activities of the comapany in the designated site.
3. Share and implement the best practices.
4. Develop existing and new talent.
To provide advice and guidance (in consultation with HR) to the Site Manager on all recruitment, termination of employment, promotion, and salary/payroll issues of technical staff.
The role involves oversight of technical staff in achieving operational efficiencies and budgeted improvement targets. Areas of focus include facility maintenance, refrigeration systems, material handling equipment and oversight of safety and compliance programs.
Key priorities will include establishing and implementing metrics, administering company policies, and work on sustainability projects (reducing CO2 impact). In addition, s/he will review and analyze activities, costs, operations, and forecasted data and champion process improvement.
In this role, s/he will manage standard operating procedures, sufficient training and proper certifications for the direct reports and directs the development of a clear talent development path for the roles within the maintenance functions.

PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE:
1. The ideal candidate must have a minimum of five years of successful distribution and warehouse engineering/maintenance management and leadership.
2. The ideal candidate must have a business background to include competency in maintaining/engineering the various functional areas of refrigeration, MHE, building maintenance, IT systems, and supply chain optimization.
3. The ideal candidate must have experience in refrigeration warehouses, being a plus in transport and logistics sector.
4. The ideal candidate must have experience in facility maintenance, being a plus to have experience in automatization systems, continuous improvement and knowledge in HSSE
5. The ideal candidate will have experience in value added services (i.e. mechanized sortation, packing, picking).
6. The ideal candidate must have experience developing and executing strategy / annual plans (budget, operational performance, SOPs, etc.) .
7. The ideal candidate must have knowledge on contract management and SLA’s.
8. The ideal candidate must be solvent applying metric measurements (i.e. energy efficiency, quality, employee productivity, and safety).
9. Will be desirable that the candidate will have experience in employee training and development (technical/functional input).

EDUCATION AND LANGUAGES:
1. The ideal candidate will have a bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering, Organizational Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or similar, but is not required.
2. MBA or Master in Facility Management, Building Management, Operations Management, Supply Chain & Operations Management or similar will be a plus.
3. Certifications in Business Continuity as Six Sigma, Lean, ISO or similar will be a plus.
4. High level of Spanish is required and high level of English is required.
5. Communication: Good written and oral communication skills.
